Orthognathic splints, also known as orthodontic splints or occlusal splints, are custom-made surgical devices. The splints are used to facilitate the positioning, fixation and stabilisation of jaw segments during orthognathic surgery. They are based on each patient’s unique anatomical data obtained from medical imaging techniques such as (CB)CT scans, IO scans and dental plaster models.
Our splints are manufactured using high-quality Biomedical Resin, which meets strict quality and safety standards. These materials are non-toxic, non-irritant and safe for use during surgical procedures.
During surgery, orthognathic splints are accurately positioned and fixed according to the pre-designed surgical plan. They act as guides for the correct placement of jaw segments, streamlining the surgical procedure and reducing the risk of post-operative complications.
Prior to surgery, orthognathic splints are carefully prepared, cleaned, disinfected and sterilised according to the indicated procedures. During the intra-operative phase, they are used scrupulously according to the surgeon’s treatment plan.
